Enterprise FAX: OpenText (previously known as Captaris) - an innovative pioneer in FAX and e-document delivery.
OpenText helps companies reduce costs, improve user productivity and enhance internal and external communications every day. That is why RightFax is the market leader in enterprise fax and e-document delivery, with over 70,000 installations globally and a market share nearly three times higher than the next leading vendor. e-Tech Systems has a VAR agreement with Captris.
The OpenText RightFax family of products provide easy-to-use, easy-to-manage enterprise fax and e-document delivery solutions that integrate and automate the flow of a full range of fax, paper and electronic documents and data.
Herein we outline a few of e-Tech Systemsí successfully implemented projects in this area:
Watan Investment, Saudi Arabia
e-Tech Systems recognized Watan Investment need for an enterprise level FAX system that would automate and manage faxes within the company HQ, its branches and its clientele. e-Tech Systems thus approached Watan Investment with an offer for a world class enterprise level fax management solution, RightFax from OpenText (previously known as Captaris).
e-Tech systems proposed RightFax Enterprise server to be deployed at Watan Investment HQ. To cater for high availability, the RightFax Enterprise server was clustered as an active/active 2-node cluster with 8 channels. The proposed solution would make use of Watan Investment VoIP infrastructure where the Fax solution uses FoIP technology.
Watan Investment chose to implement the solution in 2 phases, where in the first phase, the HQ and Watan Investment Riyadh regional office run the solution. Watan Investment Riyadh regional office would additionally have a RightFax Enterprise server with 2 channels (channels provide added value of least cost routing between HQ and this branch) that connects to the HQ Enterprise servers as an additional high availability precaution. Thus full FAX capabilities would be assured at the Riyadh regional office even if the connection with HQ was compromised.
In phase II, three additional geographically dispersed branches will connect to this architecture.
It is worth noting that additional RightFax modules were implemented: MS Exchange that allows FAXes to be sent/received via MS Outlook clients, and the RightFax PDF module that provides advanced handling capabilities of PDF files.
Obeikan Publishing & Bookshop, Saudi Arabia
e-Tech Systems recognized Obeikan Publishing & Bookshop need for a FAX system thus e-Tech Systems performed a study of Obeikan FAX requirements and approached Obeikan Publishing & Bookshop with an offer for a world class fax management solution, RightFax from OpenText (previously known as Captaris).
e-Tech systems implemented the following RightFax solution components at Obeikan: RightFax business server with 4 channels and RightFax MS Exchange module in order to allow additional options for Fax reception/delivery from within outlook email clients.
The implemented Obeikan Fax system provides for a robust, scalable and reliable central fax and e-document delivery solution that automates outbound and inbound faxes and provides fax transmission cost and management savings, reduced delivery delays, loss of information and provides additional benefits such as enhanced security, confidentiality, conformance to organization workflow policies and reduced downtimes and failures.
Smartlink, Saudi Arabia
On a daily basis, Smartlink departments used to use fax machines, to send and receive documents, the process involved frustrating amounts of printing, waiting and filing. Some areas had several fax machines while in others, such as the call center, employees would often find themselves waiting in line at a single fax machine.
e-Tech Systems approached Smartlink and delivered a RightFax solution from OpenText (previously known as Captaris) that was capable of answering all Smartlink fax handling and management needs.
The implemented RightFax solution utilizes the RightFax Enterprise Server with the RighTfax Microsoft Exchange module for 4 analog lines, which now enables SmartLink to handle a huge number of faxes each day, including automated faxes directly from its Portal application.
The Arab Bank, Jordan
The Arab bank issued an RFP where it requested a FAX solution that would facilitate and automate faxing within its Trade Finance Department. The RFP also requested that the FAX address book data would be extracted from its legacy Eximbills; customized integration with application DB2 database running on AS400 was needed.
e-Tech Systems bid (and won this bid) to provide a FAX solution, training and services that cover the FAX System requested; The product proposed to satisfy client requirements was the RightFax small business server with 2 channels.
The RightFax system provided a robust, scalable and reliable central fax and e-document delivery solution that automated outbound and inbound faxes and provided fax transmission cost and management savings, reduced delivery delays, loss of information and provided additional benefits such as enhanced security, confidentiality, conformance to organization workflow policies and reduced downtimes and failures.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) , Jordan
MOFA issued and RFP for its MARASEM department where it requested a Fax solution in order to automate inbound/outbound faxes and to archive these faxes in its DMS, OmniDocs. MOFA additionally requested that the fax solution be integrated with MARASEM workflow system, Ultimus BPM. Training and knowledge transfer was also requested.
e-Tech Systems bid (and won this bid) to provide a FAX solution, training and services that cover the FAX system requested; The product proposed to satisfy MOFA requirements was the RightFax small business server with 4 channels.
One of the unique features implemented in this project was OCR routing which utilizes OCR technology to convert static images into text so as to recognize characters on the first page of inbound faxes in order to route faxes accordingly to their intended recipients.
Services for this project included RightFax integration with MARASEM OmniDocs DMS server and integration with MARASEM Ultimus BPM. Both DMS and BPM systems at MARASEM were previously delivered and implemented by e-Tech Systems.
The implemented FAX solution will allow MOFA to manage faxes more efficiently and minimize work procedures which result in saving time and improved decision making thus allowing quicker responses and faster service.
